Headaches Are Not Normal!

Do you suffer from migraines or headaches? Did you know that headaches are not "normal" for anyone?

Not all headaches are the same, they can vary in severity, type, location and frequency.

Tension headaches, Migraines, and Cluster headaches are among the most common and can be helped
with chiropractic care. We utilize many different techniques and treatments to get the best results. First,
an examination will be performed and sometimes x-rays may be necessary, this will be determined by
the doctors based on each individual patients case.

Utilization of therapies such as ultra sound, electric muscle stimulation, traction, graston and cupping can be utilized to  help decrease muscle tension and adhesions that can form from stress, repetitive actions, or traumas.

Our doctors can use multiple different adjustment techniques for each patients specific needs. These can include manual or instrument adjusting. Chiropractic adjustments correct misalignments in the spine which can relieve
nerve pressure and muscle tension that can be contributing to or causing headaches. Another great
options for headaches in Acupuncture. Acupuncture is a treatment using small needles to help stimulate
different points in the body that help to decrease pain and muscle tightness, improve circulation and
relax that body.

Common Types of Headaches:
-Migraines: intense, throbbing pain that can be one sided or bilateral. Migraines often have triggers that
can be related to foods, drinks, different medications and hormones. They often have signs, or aura that
present prior to the headache pain. These can include neck pain, blurry or double vision, nausea and/or
vomiting but they are not always present
-Tension Headache: often related to muscle tension found at the base of the skull or in the upper
shoulders or back. The muscle tension can create a strong pull on the skull and the vertebra (bones of
the spine) that can result in pain and nerve irritation creating headaches and neck pain.
-Sinus Headache: these often present with increased pressure and tenderness in the face around the
sinus cavities and can sometimes coincide with sinus infections.
-Cluster Headaches: while these headaches are shorter in duration they are more intense, and happen
back to back occurring 1-4 times a day or multiple days in a row.

These are just some common types of headaches but not all. Headaches can come in many different
ways and shapes. Not all present the same way person to person so it is important to have any
headache checked out. They should never be considered a "normal" part of life.
